Aims and Scope
The Directive 2006/123/EC On Services in the Internal Market provides that member states shall ensure that all procedures and formalities »may be easily completed, at a distance, and by electronic means, through the relevant point of single contact and with the relevant competent authorities« (Art. 8 par. 1).
The European Academy for Freedom of Information and Data Protection, the Study Centre for the Information Society of Alcatel-Lucent Stiftung for Communications Research and the Working Group »Informatics in Education and Society« of the Humboldt-University Berlin is organizing an International Conference dealing with the involved data protection issues and technical solutions which are onstage to date.
The following items will be considered:
- Aims and Contents of the Directive
- General Aspects of Data Protection
- Data Protection issues regarding the point of single contact
- Implementation ideas in the public administration
- Proposals for technical solutions (»blue prints«).
European Data Protection Authorities, representatives of Public Administration, universities, members of computer associations and lawyers are invited to participate.
